BENEFITS OF PLASTER FINISHES
Plaster finishes come with a set of benefits and could be an excellent choice to suit your needs.
Some of the benefits of concrete finishes are:
Durability: Properly constructed plaster finishes outlast other kinds of finishes.
Damp resistance: Plaster finishes are nonabsorbent, thus offering sufficient water resistance.
Maintenance costs: Surfaces with plaster finishes are easy to maintain, thus drastically lowering the maintenance costs.
High fire resistance: Plaster is non-combustible, and plaster finishes thus offer high fire resistance for plaster surfaces.
Eco-Friendly: Lime plaster is nontoxic and does NOT release any VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) into the environment.
Prevents Mold and Mildew: The high pH levels in lime plaster acts as a natural fungicide and helps prevent mold and mildew.
TYPES OF PLASTER FINISHES
FLOAT AND TROWEL FINISHES
This is when the plaster is applied on a surface and using a trowel to create a smooth concrete look. The process gives a unique pattern. You may opt for a flat surface or a swirl pattern finish. Most clients who prefer a minimalistic design opt for the trowel finish. The trowel finish is suitable for both indoor and outdoor finishes. They are ideal because of their high abrasion resistance, weather conditions, and damp resistance.
STENCILED
Stenciled plaster involves putting rolls of patterned paper on the surface to achieve the desired shapes. The patterns can be bricks, tiles, flower or any other shapes and letters.
POLISHED (VENETIAN)
Venetian plaster is a wall and ceiling finish consisting of plaster mixed with marble dust, applied with a spatula or trowel in thin, multiple layers, which are then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture.
BROOM FINISH
This finish is achieved by applying plaster on a surface and spreading the top using a broom. You can change the thickness of the broom bristles to get more profound and more outstanding finishes.
LAVA FINISH
This is a textured, natural lime-based finish. It can be applied in more than ten distinctly diverse finishes, such as Craters, Juta, Rain, Spazzolato, Tessuto, and Crocodile Skin, and many others. Although it is lime-based, it is remarkably hard. It has a lower absorption degree than normal lime plasters and is therefore ideal as a support for veiled effects.
WOOD FINISH
We recreates the subtle imperfections of a wood finish using plastering techniques. The easily applied texture highlights wall surfaces with very subtle nuances that when combined with Glaze and Sealer products will recreate the look of wood without the negative disadvantages of actual wood.
